Day 6

A few months ago, I was reading Proverbs.  I came across chapter 30, specifically verses 8 & 9.
Give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say "Who is the Lord?" or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.  (ESV)
Today, I am grateful that I have always had enough. Actually according to world wide standards, I have really had riches. That fact is very humbling, as I often grumble about not having all that I would like.  I have so much.  In my own standard of living though, I can say God has granted me neither riches nor poverty, but enough. I need to remember to be thankful for this each and every day.

I will admit, when I see the checkbook balance dwindling, I freak out more than I should.  I should never worry though. I have never had to go to bed without a meal. I have clothing for my body. I have a warm home. Every basic need that I have is provided for me and there is still enough left over.

Lord, I thank you that you provide everything that I really need. I thank you for the extras that I have. I pray that I will continually be humbled when I seek "more."  May I find satisfaction in "enough."  You are enough.
