Day 30

Wrapping up the month, and the 30 days of gratitude...I could not have asked for a better day to say goodbye to November.  What a day to be grateful for.

Today's high was a gorgeous 41 degrees. So much warmer than I would expect for the day before December arrives here in southern Iowa, but I'll take it!  Because of the loveliness of the day, I decided to take Ian outside to play for awhile this morning.  We enjoyed a nice walk around the block (most of the time I was pushing him on his little car. Man, I would really love to get him one of those trikes with the parent handle so I'm not breaking my back!)  We both really enjoyed the brisk air though as we took our little stroll.
When we came around to the front of the church, Ian recognized "his yard" and took off running for his partially assembled swing set.  Ian played awhile, then decided to go up to the porch and watch me do some yard work.  I could tell he was getting tired, so we headed inside.  We were probably out for a little less than an hour, but it was so beautiful!

All in all, it was one of the best days I've had in quite a long time.  I got so much accomplished, and I even had a lot of time to give Ian my full attention.  Reading books together, having lunch, playing catch...and still having time to clean all but 1 room of the house, and finish another stocking!
Really, it was just a great day to glory in all that God has done and what He has given.  I'm so thankful for an awesome God.  And now, I'm really looking forward to focus my attention on preparing for the celebration of Advent - looking forward to the birth of Jesus.

My heart is full. This is counted as joy.
