Just as a side note though, for those of you who are practicing the expression of your gratitude, isn't it a good feeling? I really just love how it gets easier and easier, and how being grateful can really put a positive perspective on the day. So cool. Anyway, here we go.
Day 12 - I am grateful for a beautiful November day. Seriously, with weather in the low 60s, I could hardly believe it was November at all. It was so nice to be outside without being all bundled up, and being able to enjoy some sunshine. Especially now with the sun setting much earlier, I crave every bit of sunshine I can get. So I truly am thankful for the weather today.
Also, I got a chance to meet up with some of my extended family (a couple of my uncles actually) who live in Ohio. I haven't seen them for 5 years or so. It is kind of neat to get a perspective on where I come from in a way that I don't get very often. Although only 2 of my dad's brothers could make it to have dinner with us, it was a really fun time, and I enjoyed getting re-aqcuainted with them.
Day 13 - Today I'm thankful for a place to go where Ian could have lots of fun and hands on play time. My dad treated us to a trip to COSI (Center of Science and Industry) in Columbus, OH. It took Ian a few moments to warm up to the place. There were quite a few other people there, and he had just woken up, but once he got warmed up, he was OFF! I have to say, he especially loved the water tables (getting soaked, of course), and the "helicopter." Mostly, I just loved watching my boy play hard, and really see him using his imagination too. Growing up is one of those bittersweet things, but it was so much fun to watch my boy today.
On a side note - More pictures from our COSI trip will be posted on my facebook in the very near future.
Day 14 - Today was our drive back from Ohio. I am thankful for a car that runs well and safe travels along the road. These are things I usually take for granted, but I really shouldn't.
On top of that, I am grateful that Ian travels so well. He gets a little fussy sometimes, but who wouldn't being strapped into a car seat for about 8 hours? I'm so blessed that he's a good traveler and I can take him fun places without having to worry.
Day 15 - Today, I am thankful for my entire extended family; both the one I was born into, and the one I married into. It is so good to have people around you in life who you can depend on, and who can depend on you.
Being so spread out around the country is rough sometimes in that it makes it difficult to see our family as often as we'd like. So, I guess today, I should be grateful for things like Skype, social networking, telephones, and e-mail too - and of course, transportation. :-)
I would post a picture of all my family, but I don't have one because there are so many. Lots of people to love, and I'm grateful.
